Celebrating the Fourth

SUPER THANKFUL FOR
hamburgers  ~  corn on the cob  ~  hot dogs  ~  cornhole
fireworks  ~  ice cream  ~  friends  ~  family
our military  ~  and our country

The night before the 4th, our family enjoyed a night together at Busch Gardens.  Bill and Espy rode Verbolten, and Isabella rode Le Scoot Log Flume for the first time.  She wasn't a fan of the big
waterfall - at all.  She was clearly offended after we got off the ride.  Gianna's itching to get on a roller coaster but has a couple more inches to go before she can participate.  Mom watched Evangeline for us so we could stay late for the fireworks - which were amazing!  Isabella enjoyed the show in her stroller and behind the safety of her towel.  It was ridiculously hot, but the girls were having too much fun to notice.

The next morning, some friends (new and old!) came over with treats from Panera AND Starbucks.  The girls were in heaven with multiple playmates, and I was happy to be in my white chocolate mocha world.  (How did we not get a picture of all of you and the girls?)  Thanks again for coming to see us Jess, Zach, Jordan, Ian, and Tristan!

We had my family over to cook out that afternoon.
There was plenty of delicious food and our typical rounds of cornhole.

I got to enjoy these tidbits throughout the day:
GRACE
Are you being patriotic?
GIANNA
What does that mean?
GRACE
That you love our country.
GIANNA
Yes.  We won the second Civil War.

GRACE
Whose birthday is it today?
ISABELLA
America's.
GRACE
That's right.
ISABELLA
I'm going to make her a paper doll.

GIANNA
Mom, I need an envelope.
GRACE
What's in your envelope, Gi?
GIANNA
Money.
GRACE
For what?
GIANNA
For my country.
