I Should Be A Better Mom

My girls are driving me crazy right now!

Grace, you should not even say that - children are a blessing from the Lord!

You've got that right, and those blessings are being ridiculous today.  Well maybe they're not being so ridiculous.  Maybe their daddy has been gone for eleven days.  Perhaps their mommy has been staying up WAY TOO LATE and getting up way too early this past week.  It also might be safe to say

that four little girls have been partying too hard while daddy's been away.  That plus lots of laundry and a ToDo list that never ends is a fantastic combination for Mother of the Year.  After submitting one of my best performances this morning, I apologized to God and asked for some energy ASAP.

No worries - everyone's still alive and well in the home.  After pumping myself full of caffeine, pasta, and chocolate (so awesome, I know) - I put three towels down in the living room and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches - no crust (of course), bowls of grapes, and mini bowls of secret cheese puffs & gummy bears.  What are secret snacks?  I'll tell you, my friend.  They're little nuggets of goodness that are terrible for your health that these little children get to eat almost never.  They practically sing the hallelujah chorus when they see such things in the store.
Do they have them from time to time?
Yes.
Did they have them today?
YES.
I put a movie in and called the girls into the living room.
How happy can lunch in the living room and a movie make three little girls?
VERY.

Thankful for sweet little hearts that so easily forgive an impatient, tired mother.

Aww Grace! I know exactly how you feel! I don't have to keep up with so many little girls, but the feeling is the same!! Hang in there! I'll be praying for you!!

Sometimes we don't catch ourselves in the moment. We get so tangled in the expectations, the lists...we don't a chance to breathe. When the girls 'snap' back, we don't stop, laugh, sigh and then explain calmly why she "cannot possibly wear that dress outside to play today". Sometimes we simply LOSE it. But that's how it happens sometimes-even to the best of us. And that's what you are 'The BEST Mom' for YOUR girls. Getting better each day as they teach you how to be even better. It's kind of why they're here. Keep up the amazing job Grace.
