APRIL 28 - 1pm

Got my Jackson-bulb out even if I was still draining over 25cc. Now I have a hole on my side. Sitting for the next 90 minutes receiving my first dose of Herceptin to slow down the cancer in my liver while I travel and heal. Chemo in 2 weeks.

Having another biopsy tomorrow (April 26) on my liver...really asking Jesus that it ends up being nothing no matter how small the percentage...God has it.
Praying that things will line up so we can absolutely complete the adoption these next few weeks. Thanks for praying with us.

I am scheduled for a PETscan & a CATscan to see where the cancer has moved. The surgery results showed the 5 lymph nodes removed all had cancer. Just praying now that it will move really slow/halted...praying that my cancer has not spread to another area of the body (metastasized).

UPDATE
My lymph node / tissue surgery is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon...praying for clear lymph nodes...and Praising God that His is kind, gentle and lovingly caring for each of us through difficult circumstances.  He still lovingly shines that He is...LOVE.

Dear Maileen...

Maileen,

I am a friend of your wonderful cousins Grace and Sarah.  I must say that your updates are as much
an encouragement to me as they are requests for prayer for you and your family.  Your faith is beautiful and I can see your love for and trust in our mighty and loving God.
You are walking a tremendously challenging and frightening journey, but, as your blogs indicate, you know that you are not walking this alone.  We don't know the plans God has for us, but we do know that He will always accompany us and strengthen us on our journey through life.  This is challenging to accept in the midst of a struggle, I know, but I pray that you continue to hold onto this promise.
God is faithful...that's all I know and I pray that you and Peter will feel His peace and arms wrapped tightly around you.

Grace,

This truly breaks my heart! But I do know that God is Sovereign, and He will not let anything come into our lives that He doesn't ultimately choose to use for His Glory. I am definitely going to be
praying for Maileen and for her dear family. I can't imagine having to leave my loved ones behind, but knowing I had to in order to be there for them in the future. I am glad to hear that she has a great team of support...that means alot in times like this!!

I read this a second ago and thought it may encourage you and Maileen.

Faith is built upon trust. God wants us to trust Him - even when we do not understand what is happening or can explain the circumstances. Even when nothing makes sense and everything seems wrong. It is easy to trust Him when the seas are calm and the skies are clear but the strength of our faith is measured in the midst of a raging storm. A crisis always reveals what is really inside. What life does to us depends on what life finds in us. Faith is a deliberate choice to believe God, to walk through our fear, knowing we can trust Him every step of the way.

Dear Maileen...

All your family from Oz are praying and thinking of YOU, Peter and Marissa. We are believing for God’s best for you and every prayer point, and believing to hear ‘good news’!!!

-I remember the last time we saw each other was at California at a family dinner get together just after
Ian and I were married (2004)... the four of us prayed for each other (just  before we said our goodbyes for the night) specifically for  each other’s ministry.
